Established in 1997 as a company manufacturing sporting knives, Extrema Ratio focuses on producing quality knives for military, law enforcment and emergency personnel. The production began using industrial procedures combined with a hand crafted finish, and this method continues to be used today. The only processes which are automated are those that guarantee uniformity, while the processes which guarantee the quality remain hand crafted. Any work that requires the skill of the craftsman, such as sharpening the blades, is carried out exclusively by hand. Thanks to the interaction with Italian armed forces and later with other international forces, the company continues to accumulate valuable information which has allowed it to develop blades which are both truly useful and professional.
Extrema Ratio produces only a few knife designs and firmly believe in their efficiency. Each design is dedicated to a specific user. For this reason Extrema Ratio prefers to modify their knives rather than make something different or new. The interaction they have with these users has made an outstanding contribution to their experience and knowledge, thus transforming and advancing the evolution of their knives. |
