The Benchmade Apparition tactical knife uses a versatile deployment system in which you choose normal or spring assisted opening of the blade. Simply insert the Optimizer spring in the handle with the included tool for spring assisted opening or leave out for normal opening. In the spring assisted mode, after manual deployment approximately 30% open the spring assist takes over and snaps the blade fully open and locked. The 4.4 inch handle is made of G-10, a synthetic material impervious to salts and acids, it will not shrink or swell with temperture extremes and will never fade or rot. The blade itself is a 3.25 in. drop point style made of D2 steel with black oxide coating for blade protection and glare reduction. The knife locks up solidly with a liner lock and comes complete with a removable pocket clip. This is a very well thought out knife you will be pleased to own.
